Previously. she led Product + Innovation support for Mark Cuban's portfolio with support in Product Design (Manufacturing/ Mechanical Engineering / User Experience/ UI/ Graphics), Innovation (lean and six sigma process improvements, team formation, strategy, scaling workflows), and Marketing (branding, web design, campaign development) for portfolio companies. At SUTD-MIT International Design Centre, Rachel researched challenges in product development specific to developing contexts while leading projects in Papua New Guinea, China, and Singapore. At Samsung, she created improvement opportunities within the urgent and high stake environment of the semiconductor manufacturing industry. At BioLite, she identified opportunities to improve communication, transparency, and streamline the design process for new product development. She highly values bringing together the worlds of form and functionality to make products optimal, elegant, useful, and meaningful.
Her industry experience includes construction, medical devices, consumer electronics, food/ beverage, food/beverage packaging, energy, camping/recreation, social media tools, and mobile applications within emerging, international, and domestic markets in start up, consulting, academic, and corporate environments.
Rachel hails from Dallas, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas, has traveled to over 40 countries (living in a few along the way), and has a passion for running, swimming, cooking, playing music, and improv.
